Edward Steere Fort Union: Its Economic and Military History

Abstract Typewritten history of Fort Union prepared for the National Park Service. The work covers the period of the Mexican-American War through the Civil War. Located in Mora County, New Mexico, Fort Union was constructed in 1851. It protected the Santa Fe Trail and served as a supply depot for other military posts in New Mexico. The fort was abandoned in 1891, after the arrival of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe railroad.

Elephant Butte Irrigation District records,

Abstract Organized in 1918 after the Elephant Butte Dam was built, EBID replaced the Elephant Butte Water Users Association as a means to manage water rights and pay off the debt of the dam's construction to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The records here come from the district's executive operations as well as its main functions, in forms ranging from small cards to large maps.

Abstract Esther Chávez Cano founded the women’s rights advocacy group Ocho de Marzo (Eighth of March) in Ciudad Juárez in 1992. Soon after, she began organizing activist groups to work for the prosecution of murders of young women in Juárez.
